Shes been a great guitar over the years and deserves to be played, not sit in the corner of my closet. The RGT42DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2005. Strung up with DR 10-46 tite fit strings.

To further be nit-picky, there is some fretware on frets 1-5 on the steel string side, does not inhibit playability or sound in anyway.Ĭomes with a padded gig bag, strap, and Stew Mac floyd "Key" intonation tool. As you will see in the picture, the only cosmetic flaw is a small impression on the body around the base trem stud, it did not break the paint, just creased. These have been retouched with matching paint, you really cant see them unless you look. It does has a couple small nicks on the back heel of the body, and around the tremolo pocket on the front. The tops of the volume and tone knobs, pickup rings have typical corrosion found in Ibanez Cosmo powder parts. The guitar now has that superior sound it was designed to rip really responsive and warm, highly resonant!įinish is near perfect, no pick scratches, even has film on the plastic covers! I would give this guitar an 8.5/10 for condition. I fabricated a piece of aluminum to keep the trem springs from moving in the plate, and put foam in the cavity to eliminate spring noise. The Brass base plate has been filed down to get clearance for the back cover. The neat thing about the Gotoh is that you can adjust the friction of the trem arm with an allen screw! Very handy. I pulled the old pins and studs out, replaced with the bigger and more stable Gotoh locking studs. This superior tremolo replaced the junk Lo TRS II bridge. Guitar has been modified to fit the Gotoh Floyd Rose System. 5 Piece Maple bubinga Neck thru, basswood body, stock pickups (Inf1 and Inf2, best Ibanez stocks I've heard), 5 way pickup switch, volume, tone knobs.
